We are taking some time in our classroom to honor the wonderful authors and illustrators that make us laugh and engage us in their amazing stories! This project was a tribute to Eric Carle. We read several of his books and talked about the methods he uses to create such fantastic illustrations. We decided to try it out by making our very own Brown Bear. First, we spread orange paint all over our paper with paintbrushes, then we scraped brown paint with pieces of cardboard, and finally we cut pasted and drew our bears. The end result was some of the cutest bears ever! ~Ms Michelle
We've loved pretending to write mail to our friends this month. We also wrote cards to our families.
We also began to learn about people whose job is to write stories. Authors Eric Carle and Eric Litwin were of special focus this week and we love their stories. We are excited to read more of their books.
Our afternoon class thought Eric Litwin's Pete the Cat story with the buttons popping off was so funny. After reading his book, we decided to write him a letter and postcards to share our appreciation.
We've had so much excitement this week: painting projects, impressive block structures, and lots of lovely singing. Spending time together is one of our favorite things here at preschool and we look forward to seeing everyone again after the second winter break.
This has been a very mixed-up, topsy-turvy week for weather in Washington. Snow and rain filled our roads, but fun filled our classroom. Whatever the weather, we have fun together.
